Before Buying a Sail

You need to know how a sail attaches to the boat before searching for replacement sail. Main and mizzen sails generally use internal or external slides that come in different size widths. Jibs and Genoas use hanks or luff tape that also have different sizes. Here are some common examples:

Main/Mizzen Sails
Internal Slides 3/4" or 7/8"
External Slides 7/8" or 1"

Jibs/Genoas
Hanks #1 or #2 or #3 or #4
Tape #5 or #6 or #7 or #8

Changing main/mizzen slides is incidental. Changing luff tape size, or converting from tape to hanks, or hanks to tape, can be done but is usually not cost effective except in limited situations.

The need for a minor repair may be mentioned in the sail description, in which case the cost will be included in the price. We will adjust the price if you prefer to take it "as is".
